Version Control System for GNOME

As it seems most people that say something here is those that advocate Bazaar. So, let’s just go with that, both that and SVN are better than CVS and I’m sure whatever new syntax and techniques you have to learn everyone should be able to.

Personally I think Bazaar looks interesting, only tested tla which was pretty scary but seemed nice in theory.

The part I have a problem with here is that we tend to make every decision into a long debate, every time. It’s great to see the Bazaar people creating a repository instead of wasting time discussing the issue, over and over and over again.

Go Go Doers!

Re: Jeffrey on Java in GNOME

The debate is not whether to write core libraries in C#, Java or whatever. It’s whether to have any of these high level languages in the the application layer (desktop). For example the uber cool Beagle software should in my opinion be in the desktop and provide a D-BUS interface for querying and/or initiating the Beagle client.

I think everyone pretty much agree that whatever used for platform level has to be wrappable easily. Like for example C is, and will be even more with the introspection stuff going into GLib.

Amen

Amen.
