New developer site
Been working for a while now when I’ve had some time left on a new wiki-style site for us at Imendio to put up our personal projects we are hacking on. So for me that would be Gossip, Loudmouth, Blam and Devhelp.
The idea is that it’ll be both the official project site and a working area (which we call Scratchpad) for presenting ideas and braindumping in. So this means that the sites Planet Gossip and Planet Planner will be replaced by this. It just makes it much more easy for others to be involved and also for us to maintain.
Parental Training
On a totally different thing, me and Carina went to the first meeting for future parents today. It was a three hours meeting where we got told on what to expect during delivery, different pain killers and could ask questions.
So for everyone that doesn’t know, we are going to have a child this summer. So if I drop of the face of the earth after that, don’t worry.
I was just taking a look around developer.imendio.com and found Launch-Box. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m a long time Mac user and have been forced by the company I’m working for to get my personally owned PowerBook off of their network. So, I’m back to using Linux. This in and of itself isn’t a problem, because I’m a UNIX engineer by trade. But I sure so miss the nice little details of OS X. Anyway, I downloaded Launch-Box and would really like to use it, but how do you use it? It didn’t create any menu entries, and it didn’t create a Gnome Applet. I can launch it from the command line, but that brings up an empty box. I have tried a number of CLI arguments, and have gotten nothing back. I am taking a look at the source to try to figure it out, but I’m a long way from a programmer… Thanks…
Congratulations on the upcoming child Micke!
Congratulations to you both!
Chris, you execute the command ‘gnome-launch-box’ which should give you the dialog. Then you just execute this command everytime you want it, it’s a bit slow on the first run.
Congrats Mikael on your Developer-in-Training.
I am father of two little girls, and just wanted to wish you all the best. Congrats. Being father is the best thing that can happen to men. Hope you will be able to find some time working on gossip and planner which are my imendio favourites. If not ou have got the best excuse in the world
Greetings from Germany.
Thanks to you all
Congratulations!
Azarah, Spider, and I were just reminiscing about you. Glad to know that you’re well!
