Fixing the low backlight after suspend
I’ve had this problem since I got the X61 that the screen is almost black after coming back from suspended mode in Ubuntu. The problem can be solved by switching to terminal and then back to X but today I found a solution in the Ubuntu Forums which solves the problem.
Much kudos to lbharti for sharing this very simple solution.
Edit your /etc/default/acpi-support and set DOUBLE_CONSOLE_SWITCH=true
HACK ALERT. Fix it properly.
@Matthew: Which would be?
Not so much as a hack as a solution to me. Thanks!
Do you have this problem too? Running on battery:
Set the Brightness to max, then don’t touch the laptop for a minute ’till it lowers the brightness to save energy. Then move the mouse. On my x61 (Ubuntu 7.10) the brightness will get back to initial setting but not 100%.
@Pierre: Yeah I have that problem too, you have to manually increase the brightness back to the full setting. I have not looked into it further though, would appreciate a pointer if you find a solution to it.
