Oringen 2008

Going on vacation tomorrow for a week of orienteering in Sälen, Sweden. The terrain will vary from a more classic swedish orienteering for the first two stages and the go over to an alpine terrain with more open areas and higher altitude differences for the third and fourth stage. The last stage seems to be back to more classic terrain again with a mix of small hills and marshes.

In total the event (in my class) will be about 30km as the birds fly which should translate into something like 45-50km of terrain running over the course of five days. Hopefully I’ve exercised enough, I’ve tried to do 4-5 sessions per week over the last couple of weeks and luckily Guadec had little impact on the overall fitness as this week felt really good.

Three beautiful babies

A special Merry Christmas to Tina (my sister), her husband Amir, Edd Dumbill and his wife Rachael. Not dead

Been somewhat quiet for quite some time now, my focus has been elsewhere with much of it going to Emma who is getting more personality all the time.

On the software front I’ve not had as much time/focus/energy as I would have wanted but I’ve lately felt a bit more of all three so hopefully I’ll get some hacking done again soonish. Right now however I’m planning for ImendioConf 2006 which we will have in Stockholm at the beginning of November.

Ordered myself a new camera house (Canon 30D) which should be delivered tomorrow or Friday, should be fun to get into more photographing again.
